COVERING LETTER

Why are They Hiring?

Make the business case for them to employ you.

Wording and Clarity

  • Employers will be looking at a number of letters so make it easy for them to understand your skill set.

  • Avoid generalisations.

  • Use the same wording as in the advertisement and match this to your CV.

  • Check spelling and grammar.

  • One page in length.

Career Break

If you wish to include details of a career break introduce this with a phrase along the lines of: "following a planned career break, I am now seeking a xxxx role".

You do NOT need to explain why time was taken out.
